Training on Handling of Wastewater Containing Metals and Cyanide Training on Handling of Wastewater Containing Metals and Cyanide The ASU team will develop a 16-hour seminar comprised of two sequential 8-hour workshops specifically designed to minimize the release of heavy metals and cyanide from metalo-plating industry into the publicly owned treatment works and the environment. The seminar topics will focus on best practices and technologies and developing problem solving skills. A portion of the seminar will involve examining the current situation and developing cost effective and sustainable solutions for the existing problems. To adequately prepare the workshop/seminar topics, the ASU team will have at least one meeting with APSA and metalo-plating industry representatives. Upon development of the workshop/seminar materials, the ASU team will conduct two 16-hour seminars in Mexico in coordination with APSA.
