Tobacco-Free Campus and Obesity ROI Project Shared-use Roosevelt Health Impact Assessment The goals of this project are to provide the Maricopa County Department of Public Health with an estimate of the costs of obesity in Maricopa County as precisely as can be estimated, and to estimate the anticipated return on investment of a set of obesity prevention policies/programs, to be selected in conjunction with MCDPH. The following activities are suggested: Focus Groups - Meet with MCDPH staff to review final research questions and appropriate methodologies - Provide written copy of focus group and key informant interview outline and questions - Provide written copy of final survey - Develop strategies for community outreach - Work with Unlimited Potential to implement strategies - Conduct focus groups to gain insight from specific affected populations including but not limited to: parents, students, community members - Conduct key informant interviews with individuals representing agencies including but not limited to Roosevelt School District, the City of Phoenix, local Police and/or Fire, and local community based-organizations (community centers/senior centers) - Conduct surveys with residents of the community that hold a stake in or that may be affected by shared-use decision-making - Conduct surveys in both English and Spanish - Present data and initial analyses from focus groups, key informant interviews and surveys at March 2015 Insight Committee meeting - Incorporate findings into Written Report by May 2015 Community Mapping Sessions - Meet with MCDPH staff to review final research questions - Meet with MCDPH epidemiologists to review existing conditions maps - Provide written copy of mapping session plan and agenda - Develop strategies for community outreach - Work with Unlimited Potential to implement strategies - Hold two mapping session events one in English and one in Spanish to capture the communitys interaction with their environment and neighborhood - Present data and initial analyses from community mapping sessions at March 2015 Insight Committee meeting - Incorporate findings into Written Report by May 2015
