Description
Supernova Progenitors and Supernova Nucleosynthesis Supernova Progenitors and Supernova Nucleosynthesis Over the past decade, LANL has hosted as post-doctoral research scientists some of the leading young experts in stellar evolution. After their tenure at LANL, these scientists have taken faculty positions across the world, but they continue to work with LANL scientists. The LANL Directed Research grant Multi-Messenger Signatures of Low Mass Supernovae leverages off of this strong collaboration with now university professors to provide initial conditions for our supernova effort. In this contract, we request supernova progenitor models from Principal Investigator and his group for this supernova effort. Only a few efforts in the world are doing this work and the PI leads one of two efforts in the United States. Combined with the PIs strong history of collaborating with LANL, the PI is the ideal candidate to work with LANL on this project.
