St Mary's Food Bank Alliance Hunger Free Summer Hubs Needs Assessment (ASUF 30006777) St. Marys Food Bank Alliance (SMFBA) Hunger Free Summer Hubs Needs Assessment This proposal details the scope of work and plan to assist the St. Marys Food Bank Alliance with a needs assessment for Mohave, Coconino and Navajo counties to understand the summer feeding landscape. This assessment will include: 1) an initial review of existing research on supplemental nutrition programs and barriers to utilization in the summer months; 2) key informant interviews with organizations working on the ground within the three counties, the data from which will be used to inform survey questionnaire development and GIS mapping; 3) development of GIS mapping project detailing local service providers, service areas, and service gaps; 4) distribution of surveys to parents, grandparents, and guardians within the three counties of interest; 5) focus groups within each county to further explore needs, barriers, and strategies to increase summer food program utilization; 6) a written report synthesizing findings across methods, including comparisons among counties and recommendations for improving access to meals during summer months; and, 7) a final presentation to the project team and stakeholders.
