Protecting the online ecosystem through proactive cybercrime reporting Protecting the online ecosystem through proactive cybercrime reporting Much of the focus on the anti-abuse ecosystem has been on the monitoring of the content that is being distributed to users. For whatever reason, there has been little focus on how to better support the protection of the common infrastructure that makes up ecosystem. The purpose of this project is to work toward enhancing monitoring, alerting, and communications to protect the many versus relying on those many to have to fend for themselves. As a motivating example, web applications of small and medium sized businesses are regularly exploited by criminals only to carry out attacks against well-known organizations such as payment providers. How can we help protect these businesses at scale?
