Preschool Development Grant Arizona PBS Parent Text Initiative Preschool Development Grant Arizona PBS Parent Text Initiative The Early Childhood Education (ECE) unit has applied for a federal grant called the Preschool Development Grant Birth through Five (PDG B-5). It has been federally approved and is state board acknowledged. Within the application, the ECE unit has written how it will address parent knowledge within communities across the state through Activity 3. This specific activity is focused to increase and maximize parent knowledge and choices during the grant period. The ECE unit proposes using PDG B-5 funds to support new partnership with Arizona Public Broadcasting Station (AZ PBS) which has an educational outreach that is the local statewide manager for Bright by Text (BBT) as a parent messaging subscription. The success of the collaboration between ECE and AZ PBS will be found in monitoring the traffic on the BBT by AZ PBS as well as parent surveys that will be sent to the ECE unit. This success will be seen by parents using available resources in their community, parent/family surveys validating the use and appropriateness of the BBT subscription, and attendance of community events in the regions.
