The project goal is to evaluate the potential of using the large data sets that are routinely accumulated in technology-based instruction platforms to inform instruction for current students. The initial platform is Algebra Nation, a tutoring system designed to increase student achievement in basic algebra. Algebra Nation is used throughout districts in Florida and is expanding into other states. Data about student use is provided by project partner Study Edge (Algebra Nation developers) and information about student achievement is obtained through a data access agreement with the Florida Department of Education.
