Description

PEPER- Photovoltaic Environmental Performance and Reliability for the Arizona-Wide Electric Grid PEPER-Photovoltaic Environmental Performance and Reliability for the AZ-Wide Electric Grid This proposal addresses major issues in the photovoltaic (PV) industry. We will provide quicker and more accurate answers to the questions, is this PV module reliable and safe? and, How should banks asses risk when predicting the annual energy-yield for a given PV system and location in Arizona? The proposed research includes tests with thousands of new PV modules in controlled laboratory conditions, and also measurements with hundreds of PV systems deployed throughout Arizona. The combined expertise of the Principle Investigators will address problems listed in Table 1. The Table identifies module-level and system-level issues.
