Description
Partnering for the Future: ASU and JPL Training for the Next Generation of Explorers Partnering for the Future: ASU and JPL Training for the Next Generation of Explorers We intend to leverage the unique skills at both ASU and JPL to provide a powerful educational experience for students registered into the Earth and Space Exploration degree programs at ASU. We are targeting two classes that are pivotal to the student success: Exploration Systems Engineering, and the Senior Exploration Project. Both classes will be enhanced by interaction with real Systems Engineers at JPL, with an active lecturing role, and possible visits to JPL to see engineering in action, and the provision of reviews of the Senior Projects (at both the PDR and CDR level) by the same group of JPL engineers. We seek to not only bring the experience and knowledge of the JPL personnel into the ASU classroom, but to foster and encourage the next generation of explorers to consider possible career paths with JPL once their education at ASU has been completed.
