Description
OWL-I: Ocean Worlds Lander Imager Ocean Worlds Lander Imager (OWL-I) Dr. Jim Bell, ASU, will lead the OWL-I science filter bandpass trade study. Working with an ASU graduate student, this will involve analysis of laboratory and theoretical data on mixtures of ice, hydrous and anhydrous silicates, and organics over the OWL-I spectral response range, in order to develop a recommended set of filters to optimize the detectability of these phases. As the Mars 2020 Mastcam-Z PI, and a Co-I/PS on many other past robotic spaceflight investigations, Dr. Bell brings key experience from past multispectral imaging efforts to the OWL-I investigation.
