Develop and characterize the growth, structural, and optical properties of novel substrates for various IR photodetector applications. The research will focus on substrates of two types: i) lattice-matched high-performance composite CdSeTe/InSb substrates for MCT detectors; and ii) low-cost and large-area ZnTe/GaAs and ZnTe/Si substrates for type-II superlattices IR detectors. This work will be carried out jointly with Army Research Laboratory.
