Microfluidic Tools Improving Serial Femtosecond Nanocrystallography Microfluidic Tools Improving Serial Femtosecond Nanocrystallography Project Title: Microfluidic Tools Improving Serial Femtosecond Nanocrystallography With this proposal we aim to improve sample preparation and injection methodology for serial femtosecond nanocrystallography using microfluidic tools. The goal is to improve microfluidic sorting rendering homogeneous crystal size fractions and upscaling throughput for compatibility with current injector nozzle designs. Further we aim to develop microfluidic injection methods compatible with current nozzle flow rates to compartmentalize injection plugs. These plugs can be synchronized with the FEL and would allow the waste reduction of precious sample by up to a factor of ten.
