Description
Integrated Foundations of Sensing, Modeling, and Data Assimilation for SeaIce Prediction Integrated Foundations of Sensing, Modeling, and Data Assimilation for SeaIce Prediction Arizona State University (ASU) has collaborated with (lead) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in preparation of a proposal with the above title for submission to the FY 2020 DoD Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) described in ONR Announcement # N00014-19-S-F005. Specifically, this proposal is being submitted to the Oce of Naval Research under MURI 2020 Topic 10, Combining Disparate Environmental Data Into a Common Framework. MURI Topic 10 seeks cross-disciplinary research to substantially advance the founda- tions of sea ice prediction in the Arctic maritime environment on operationally signicant timescales. Our multi-university project team encompasses expertise in key areas of applied mathematics and engineering upon which our approach draws. The proposed project will be performed in collaboration with researchers at the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL), a DoD laboratory whose mission and expertise includes sea ice studies.
