The goal of this award is to produce an openly accessible online English language learning tool, or Open Educational Resource (OER), specifically a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) adapted from the Professional Development Global Online Course (GOC) produced by the awardee for the AE E-Teacher Program under PO 17002362.
a. Adapt the Professional Development GOC into a MOOC, using AE E-Teacher Guidelines and Standards including Instructional Design and Online Learning (IDOL), Creative Commons, and MOOC guidelines as specified in Article X, Special Award Conditions.
b. Openly license the MOOC and all related materials with a CC BY 4.0 license.
c. Facilitate the Professional Development MOOC for a global, unlimited audience of learners.
1) Workplan and Syllabus
2) 5 modules of course content built into the course shell provided by FHI 360 on the AE E-Teacher Canvas LMS platform, including but not limited to readings, presentations, videos, discussion board prompts, quizzes and surveys with complete instructions and appropriate settings.
3) 5 PDF module packets containing all course content except for graded quizzes, including transcripts for any videos or sound files.
4) Editable source versions of module packets.
5) 5 weeks of course facilitation, managed by a lead facilitator who will supervise the interaction of volunteer alumni facilitators.
6) Weekly updates on engagement and completion during the delivery of the course
7) Final report documenting enrollment, completion and engagement rates, as well as lessons learned, suggestions for improving curriculum or content delivery, and evaluating the use of program alumni as facilitators.
