Description

Scope of Work The project will include domain selection, initialization and setting up computational parameters on the Saguaro High Performance Computing (HPC) System at ASU. The computations will be carried out on Dell M610 computers, each with dual 6-core Intel Westmere processors and 24Gb. RAM. Software on the cluster will use Fortran compiler suites, debuggers, performance profiling and tuning tools. In addition, the computations will be carried out on the Dell Poweredge R710 computers that will be used as data movers. They will be used primarily to transfer data to and from the Saguaro high speed scratch storage area, home directories, and ETS storage shares. Setup and numerical integration will be performed by project's technical analyst for computational runs with 64, 128, 256, 512 and 1024 Intel processors. The results of computations will be stored for postprocessing in NETCDF format. Post-processing will involve comparison accuracy and speed of calculations as a function of computational cores used and visualization of computational results
