Evaluation of Adsorbents for the Direct Air Capture (DAC) of CO2 Evaluation of Adsorbents for the Direct Air Capture (DAC) of CO2 We propose a 6-month research effort for an initial evaluation of commercially available adsorbents for capturing CO2 from air and recovery of the adsorbed CO2 for recycling and utilization. A combined experimental and simulation study will be carried out to screen 5 (five) materials (tbd) for their adsorption and desorption properties of CO2 under various temperatures and humidity levels. The expected outcome of this research effort is the CO2 adsorption isotherms, kinetics, column breakthrough and adsorption process performance (CO2 recovery rate and purity) on 5 (five) selected adsorbents.
