Thisprojectwillprovidemanagementagencieswithscientificinformationrequiredtorestore, enhance,andmitigateeffectsofsaltcedarbiocontrolonriparianvegetationandassociated wildlife.Becauseourprojecthasdocumentedvegetationandwildlifeconditionspriorto biocontrolestablishment,wecandocumentthetrajectoryofthewildlifecommunitiesastheir habitatsbecomeaffectedbybiocontrol.Withoutprebiocontrolconditions,researcherswould notbeabletodocumentthatchangesobservedwereduetobiocontrolandnotyearlyeffects. Similarly,thebroadtrophiclevelscopeofthisproject(fromvegetationtovertebrateendoand ectotherms)allowsustodocumentecosystemlevelchangesfollowingtheinitialintroduction andfollowing4yearsofbiocontroleffects.
