Drivers of Safer Food Production and Consumption in Nepal: Understanding the Adoption of Food Safety Practices and Consumer Consciousness in Poultry and Vegetables Drivers of Safer Food Production and Consumption in Nepal: Understanding the Adoption of Food Safety Practices and Consumer Consciousness in Poultry and Vegetables Dr. Ashok Mishra, in year one and two will work on the project. Mishra will participate in monthly Zoom meetings and visit TSU as and when needed. Mishra will provide his expertise in designing questionnaire that will be sent out to producers of poultry and vegetables in Nepal. If needed, Mishra will travel to Nepal with his own funds. Mishra will contribute in all phases of the project as need, but will particularly focus on designing and estimating the model analyzing the consumer perception, awareness, and consciousness on food safety; test hypotheses, derive inferences, and prepare write-ups Design the model and estimate the consumers' Willingness to pay for safer food; test hypotheses on factors influencing WTP, derive inferences, and prepare write-ups. Finalize model estimations, interpretation and prepare write-ups (manuscripts, conference papers, reports). Mishra will work on writing journal articles, extension bulletins and other materials in coordination with PI. Mishra will also be responsible for coordinating with co-investigators at the other institutions.
