Developing Decision Support Tools for Sustainable Water Infrastructure (ASUF 30006444) Developing Decision Support Tools for Sustainable Water Infrastructure This gift will provide support for the development of a prototype platform in partnership with Project. Prototype application will be easy-to-use, inexpensive, scientifically credible, continuously updated source, or platform, for global information on natural resources (in this case water) coupled with powerful and relevant decision-support tools. The platform and tools will exponentially lower the cost and time to analyze data and translate it into insights that decision-makers can use. The belief is that if decision-makers are provided with the resources they need to incorporate the environment into their decision-making coupled with the proof that this leads to better outcomes, norms can be shifted and mainstream adoption in the public and private sectors will result. Components of the system will include: Aggregation and processing of high resolution, near real-time geospatial data, a database of scientifically credible information and analytical methodologies, the architecture to ensure scalability and interoperability, modeling tools to estimate/predict environmental dependencies. The decision-support tools will include a mechanism for 3rd parties to translate the environmental estimates into financial and business impacts
