Developing Capacity for Broadening Participation in the Biological Sciences Dirctorate: Faculty Travel Grant for JAM09

The purpose of this proposal is to request travel funds for a selected group of faculty investigators, preferably assistant professors, whose research area is in the biological sciences and who are members of underrepresented groups (as defined by the National Science Foundation) to attend and participate in the NSF HRD Joint Annual Meeting (JAM 2009), meet with program directors from the four divisions of the Biological Sciences Directorate (BIO), and attend a special professional networking and professional development session regarding funding opportunities within the NSF BIO directorate.
