Description

CultureHub Phoenix 30007103 CultureHub Phoenix The Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts is working simultaneously on several fronts to expand and deepen the capacity for creative placemaking activities both in the Phoenix area and in the national arts sector. We have been supported by Artplace, the Surdna Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and other partners to engage in local placemaking and cultural development activities. We are currently working on a partnership with the Kresge Foundation to do a nation-wide field scan and a series of convenings to examine topics important to the development of creative placemaking as a field. ASU as a whole has numerous public engagement and service-oriented program that engage directly in the community through programs in social work, recreation and tourism, public policy, engineering, sustainability, and others. The total scope of all of these activities, programs, and entities of course represents a vital resource for the metropolitan area but it also represents an ecosystem of staggering complexity, difficult to assess, communicate, and navigate (particularly for newcomers to the arts sector or members of the community).
