As leaders on the CET Steve Graham and Karen Harris will: Participate in inter-institution instructional design team meetings (attend scheduled meetings via teleconference and provide critical feedback on products, design documents and suggested approaches to the ULN); Lead the design effort around the portfolio component of the ULN in collaboration with Rachel Currie-Ruben and Gabbie Schlichtmann and with development support from the design/program team at CAST; Lead the research effort around the portfolio component of the ULN in collaboration with Rachel Currie-Ruben and Gabbie Schlichtmann and with staff support from the research team at CAST; Hire and supervise an appropriate graduate student to support ULN work from ASU; Travel to scheduled face-to-face project meetings three times per year (e.g., CAST, USDOE); Collaborate and participate in the dissemination of research results related to the design, development and efficacy of the ULN. These efforts will be undertaken in order to meet broad project goals: to develop, implement and research the ULN; to conduct research, develop and disseminate knowledge related to the reading experiences of adolescent students with disabilities as they interact with the ULN to support overall goals of the Center around developing the ULN and an analytic system to support implementation of the literacy learning ecosystem; to support Center dissemination efforts relevant to design, implementation, research of the overall project.
