Conservation Mapping for New Protected Areas in Sabah Conservation Mapping for New Protected Areas in Sabah Targeted data collection to establish biodiversity levels and value of areas identified by CAO maps as having unusual forest types/tree composition and/or underlying edaphic features Integrate maps with GIS information on existing forest protection, threats and unallocated (opportunity) land parcels to generate geospatially-explicit network of new protected areas, taking into account the critical need for forest habitat connectivity
