Assessing Violent Extremist Ideology in Tunisia Assessing Violent Extremist Ideology in Tunisia I.OVERVIEW: TheASUteamattheCenterforStrategicCommunication(CSC)willanalyzestory contentfromseveralhundredinterview/surveytranscriptsoveratwoyearperiod.Thesurveys willbeconductedwithTunisianteenageboysandyoungmen(intwenties)byaseparate researchteaminTunisia.ThetranscriptswillarriveatASUalreadytranslatedfromArabicinto English.Participants(approximately20ateachofanestimatedeightsitesaroundTunisia)will beselectedbytheteaminTunisia.Minorswillsignparentalconsentformstoparticipate. UtilizingtheexistingnarrativeanalysisapproachoftheCSC,teammembersatASUwillperform manualandautomatedanalyses(qualitativeandquantitative)ofthestorycontentinthe surveytextstoassessthepresence,extent,andincreaseordecrease,ofviolentextremist ideologiesamongthesurveyparticipantsovermultipleintervalsinatwoyearperiod.Thiswork willbedoneattheCSCofficesontheASUcampusinTempe,Arizona.
