ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS: 2016 Second Chance Act Statewide Adult Recidivism Reduction Strategic Implementation ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS: 2016 Second Chance Act Statewide Adult Recidivism Reduction Strategic Implementation Grant ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS: Second Chance Act Statewide Adult Recidivism Reduction Strategic Implementation Grant ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS: Second Chance Act Statewide Adult Recidivism Reduction Strategic Implementation Grant Yr3 Second Chance Act Statewide Adult Recidivism Reduction Implementation Grant Program The project will target incarcerated offenders assessed as high-risk utilizing ADCs in-house validated risk- needs assessment; in FY 2016 there were released 2,050 offenders in the high-risk category. ADCs research indicates this population has a recidivism rate of 73 percent, showing it is the most likely to recidivate. The overall recidivism rate for the is 39.4 percent. The evaluation and research component will follow 250 high-risk offenders per year who are released during the project period and placed under ADC community supervision. The goal of this project is to reduce the recidivism rate of the target population by 10 percent within two years and by 50 percent over five years.
