Description

Arceate Health Innovation - Mosquito Net Repair Kit Arceate Health Innovation - Mosquito Net Repair Kit Every year, 216 million people get infected with malaria across the globe, causing an estimated 450 thousand deaths. The most common prevention method is an insecticide-treated bed net, protecting the family from mosquito bites during the night. Unfortunately, there is one major problem with this solution. A 2018 study found that 96 percent of bed nets have holes after only two years of use when they're supposed to last five. This is a major problem because according to the W.H.O., just a single small hole renders the net useless. To solve this problem, we have developed a kit that comes with everything needed to patch 10 average-size holes, ensuring its effectiveness for two more years. The recycled patching material provided in the kit results in netting that is over twice as strong and highly unlikely to tear again. Our first distribution showed that even children were able to patch holes in less than 10 minutes and 98 percent of people committed to using the kit.
