4.1.16 Cross-Cutting Thermodynamic Properties of Critical Materials

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Arizona State University (ASU) will participate in the determination of which solid rare earth mineral and material phases require new thermodynamic data and will then measure the enthalpies of formation of the appropriate compounds using the specialized and unique calorimetric capabilities of the Peter A. Rock Thermochemistry laboratory under the supervision of Prof. Alexandra Navrotsky. ASU will participate in the creation of a thermodynamic data base and the application of the new data to problems relevant to rare earth extraction and processing.
