More details on the characteristics of the ecosystem, sites, and the sampling techniques are provided in Schriever et al. (2015) "Hydrology shapes taxonomic and functional structure of desert stream invertebrate communities" in Freshwater Science, 34(2):399-409. This dataset was used in Dong et al., (2017) "Importance of Neutral Processes Varies in Time and Space: Evidence from Drylands Stream Ecosystems" PLOS ONE.
